Adrian Di Marco, founder and Executive Chairman of Australia’s largest enterprise software provider, TechnologyOne (ASX:TNE), has recently furthered his commitment to supporting local entrepreneurs and software innovation by investing in cloud-based start-up, EvacMate.
EvacMate was born from the workplace health and safety passion of CEO and co-founder Megan Lelievre in an effort to revolutionise evacuation & lockdown procedures in emergency situations, ultimately saving lives.
The EvacMate system safeguards buildings and lives by providing an efficient technology-based emergency evacuation and lockdown system. Originally designed for application in aged care facilities, the system uses red and green LED sensor devices to indicate the clearance status of rooms. The EvacMate technology feeds information through to wardens and emergency responders on their way to the emergency, saving time and helping to effectively prioritise resources.
“Ours is the first evacuation or lockdown system in the world that leverages the benefits of cloud technology,” Ms Lelievre said.
“Our software is built with mobility in mind, whereby accessing information in high pressured situations has to be available at any time, on all devices and be incredibly easy to use.”
“Start-ups typically fail through the poor commercialisation of ideas, not through poor ideas.” Mr Di Marco said.
“EvacMate is a great idea, with real potential and I am excited to be a part of it.”
Mr Di Marco was attracted to EvacMate because it was a global problem that they were solving using the power of the Cloud.
“The global patents EvacMate were in the process of securing would position them well to capitalise on the global opportunity,” he said.
Ms Lelievre is thrilled to have Mr Di Marco on board. “His knowledge of Software as a Service, his 30 years in the industry and his sincere appetite for innovation is a game-changer for EvacMate,” she said.
